At long last the UK is opening up again – although it is not quite back to normal – but at least one of the things that you can now do is to plan your wedding that you have been putting off for so long. At Elite Event Caterers we are specialists in Asian weddings – although, of course we can help you with any type of wedding, and for that matter any other sort of event such as a birthday, retirement party, corporate event, and more.
But as far as weddings are concerned, we do understand that many people find the prospect a little worrying because there are so many things to take into account. However, we can help you and take a lot of the weight off your shoulders, but first we need to know and understand your requirements for your big day.
The first thing to do when planning your wedding is, without doubt, to set a budget. You also need to stick to it as far as possible, so that may mean that you cannot go overboard with spending and may have to trim one or two things down a little, but better that than going over budget and regretting it later. Once we know what your budget is, we will be able to use our expertise to see to it that you get the best bang for your buck.
Choosing your venue is the next priority, and if you don’t have a particular venue in mind, we can help with that since we have experience of working with many of the finest venues in London and the South-East. The venue will determine the number of guests that you can accommodate, and some will only hold perhaps 100 or 150 while others can hold up to 800.
You also need to plan who your wedding party will be – bridesmaids, best man, and so on – and also confirm that your chosen friends or family members are prepared to do this. Bear in mind that you also need to include the cost in your budget for outfits, bouquets, buttonholes, and thank you gifts.
The next step is to plan your wedding guest list, and this can get complicated. Asian weddings can often be huge affairs with several hundred people, but you have to stay within budget so this may mean not inviting second cousins once removed. You really need to consider how much you want to spend per head and go from there.
Then you need to consider your wedding suppliers, and here the first thing is your caterers, which is us, and then your photographer, florist, cake maker, music and DJ, printer, and hairdresser (for the bride).
