Muslim Catering For Your Wedding

If you are Muslim and getting married – since after Freedom Day we can have a wedding reception once more – then you are obviously going to need someone to deal with the catering, unless you are planning to do it “in house” so to speak, with family and friends helping. However, most people choose to use an outside catering service for a wedding for two main reasons.

One is that most families don’t want to have their relatives slaving away in the kitchen while the rest of the family are enjoying the day, and the second is that when you use outside caterers you have peace of mind because you know that nothing is going to go wrong: nobody is going to drop the cake!

At Elite Event Caterers you can also have peace of mind because we are Muslim caterers, and for a Muslim wedding we stick rigidly to Halal rules. First and foremost, if you are going to have meat dishes included there will obviously be no pork. All our meat is Zabiha of course, as non-Zabiha meat is strictly forbidden.

Then, of course, our expert chefs will not use anything in the preparation of your foods which is not permitted for Muslims, and this includes things such as gelatin, which is extracted from pigs, lard (from the pig’s stomach), and pepsin which – while found in many animals – is also often extracted from the stomach of a pig. Furthermore, you can be sure that there is no alcohol involved either, as we won’t use things such as sherry, port, wine vinegar, and so on.

In addition, we are also very careful about shortenings. This is because animal shortenings can come from a variety of sources, and we cannot be sure whether it is Zabiha or not, so to be on the safe side we use vegetable-based shortenings with vegetable mono and di-glycerides in them. Furthermore, we will be happy to provide you with a list of all the ingredients that we will use for the preparation of your food if you wish.

Of course, all our chefs and wait staff will ensure that their hands are clean at all times, and all will be correctly dressed, with body, arms, and legs properly covered. As Muslim caterers, we also obviously know the serving code of men serving your male guests and women serving the female guests.

How To Plan Your Wedding

At long last the UK is opening up again – although it is not quite back to normal – but at least one of the things that you can now do is to plan your wedding that you have been putting off for so long. At Elite Event Caterers we are specialists in Asian weddings – although, of course we can help you with any type of wedding, and for that matter any other sort of event such as a birthday, retirement party, corporate event, and more.

But as far as weddings are concerned, we do understand that many people find the prospect a little worrying because there are so many things to take into account. However, we can help you and take a lot of the weight off your shoulders, but first we need to know and understand your requirements for your big day.

The first thing to do when planning your wedding is, without doubt, to set a budget. You also need to stick to it as far as possible, so that may mean that you cannot go overboard with spending and may have to trim one or two things down a little, but better that than going over budget and regretting it later. Once we know what your budget is, we will be able to use our expertise to see to it that you get the best bang for your buck.

Choosing your venue is the next priority, and if you don’t have a particular venue in mind, we can help with that since we have experience of working with many of the finest venues in London and the South-East. The venue will determine the number of guests that you can accommodate, and some will only hold perhaps 100 or 150 while others can hold up to 800.

You also need to plan who your wedding party will be – bridesmaids, best man, and so on – and also confirm that your chosen friends or family members are prepared to do this. Bear in mind that you also need to include the cost in your budget for outfits, bouquets, buttonholes, and thank you gifts.

The next step is to plan your wedding guest list, and this can get complicated. Asian weddings can often be huge affairs with several hundred people, but you have to stay within budget so this may mean not inviting second cousins once removed. You really need to consider how much you want to spend per head and go from there.

Then you need to consider your wedding suppliers, and here the first thing is your caterers, which is us, and then your photographer, florist, cake maker, music and DJ, printer, and hairdresser (for the bride). As wedding caterers specialising in Asian weddings, we can cover any type of food catering that you need. So, we are Punjabi caterers, Bangladeshi caterers, Gujaratis caterers, and so on.

However, we don’t just organise the food for your wedding reception, although we can do just that if it’s all you want us to do, as Bangladeshi caterers for instance. But we can do a whole lot more.

Elite Event Caterers Can Provide Whatever You Need For Your Wedding

At Elite Event Caterers we can provide all of the catering for any type of Punjabi gathering, whether that is a wedding, birthday, retirement party, or anything else. Our chefs are all highly skilled individuals and have experience in preparing a wide range of different types of Asian foods which of course, can vary considerably from one region to another.

In the Punjab region of India and Pakistan the people are passionate about their cuisine. They are proud of their heritage, are true connoisseurs, and have a great desire to preserve traditional cooking methods, the tandoori style being the most famous and well-known not just in the Punjab but across the world.

Part of the staple diet in Punjab consists of rice, wheat, and dairy products, as the area is a major producer of such foods. The cuisine is noted for its’ rich, buttery flavours and these are included in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. As Punjabi caterers, and in order to enhance the flavours of Punjabi foods, we include a lot of onions, garlic, ginger, and coriander, along with the more traditional masalas and spices which are used extensively.

A traditional Punjabi meal consists of a variety of breads ranging from tandoori roti, lachha paratha, naan bread, kulcha, chapatti and rumali roti as well. Other favourites include bhatoora, parantha, and puri.

Punjabi food also uses vegetables such as lentils and one of the best-known lentil recipes is dal makhani. This has lots of white butter / makhan in it which is incredibly creamy. Another dal recipe is a tadka which is usually made from fried onions, zeera, mustard seeds, hari mirchain, garlic and more.

You might also choose something such as salmon tikka with finest Scottish salmon with a marinade of dill, ginger, and fennel, grilled in the tandoor. Or what about a keema samosa? If you are happy to go with more expensive fish dishes, we might suggest lobster panchphoran which is simmered with five spices, peppers, and prawns. Drinks to go with it could include salted lassi, mint chaas, sweet and sour tamarind, or perhaps you would prefer a good old Beaujolais or Chardonnay.

Obviously, we could go on for quite a long time here, but you get the idea. As Punjabi caterers we can provide you with any recipes that you wish for your wedding or for any other event that you are running.

At Elite Event Caterers we are happy to provide as much or as little as you wish.

Making Your Asian Wedding Go With A Swing

As Asian wedding caterers, at Elite Event Caterers we know how to make your wedding go with a swing. And at a wedding reception, the food is the thing that will make or break it. Many people think that the most important thing is the decorations of the reception hall, the bar service, the speeches, and more. They are concerned about the entertainment. They might worry about where people are going to sit and whether Auntie Ananya will bore everyone to tears.

But in fact, everything centres around the food. Get it wrong, and people will be grumbling about it for months. Get that right, and everything else will fall into line. People will be saying how great everything looks and tastes, and how it must have cost a fortune for the caterers in order to produce such great food (when in fact, part of the secret was how brilliantly it was presented!).

This goes for many other functions too, not just weddings. Birthdays, anniversaries, parties, retirements, conferences: they all feature – and often revolve around – the food.

At Elite Event Caterers, we are all about producing fantastic food for your wedding, wherever you may be holding it. We provide catering up and down the country and are known for working with some of the best venues in the land. In particular, we have worked in many of the finest venues in London and the South-East, and so we know the personnel and logistics very well, which makes for a wedding reception that is going to be remembered for all the right reasons.

When planning any wedding there are a lot of things to take into consideration and this is why we always want to take the time to sit down and discuss your ideas. You may want certain specific foods and, of course, we can source and provide the recipes for you. You may want to ask us for ideas, because we know very well what sorts of things go down well at different weddings. So, you may want Gujerati catering, Halal catering, Pakistani catering, and so on, and at Elite Event Caterers we can produce whatever recipes you want for a particular ethnic region. And, of course, we know what foods get a big thumbs up from certain groups so we will be able to make suggestions for you.

As top Asian wedding caterers, we always endeavour to use locally sourced ingredients wherever possible because this will ensure that they are as fresh as possible. We are dedicated to using only the very finest ingredients for our dishes, no matter what the source. Your wedding day is special, so we would never dream of cutting corners.

We do ask you a lot of questions about your wedding but that is not because we are being “nosy” but because we want to be able to ensure that we can tailor our catering to your specific needs and desires. We strive to deliver top-quality service, but we are also always adaptable to your needs.

When we have had a discussion with you about your wishes, we then sit down and create a plan that will include all the various dishes that you require. When it is in a venue that we know, we can plan everything regarding seating, a bar, and so on, but if we have not worked at your venue beforehand, we will visit it and meet the staff there so that we can ensure that everything goes without a hitch on your big day. Our aim is always to create not just the food, but a day that will be remembered for years to come.
